Cummins Inc. to Sell Kuss Filtration Business

    COLUMBUS, Ind.--April 18, 2002--Today Cummins Inc. said that it will seek a strategic buyer for its Kuss Filtration business. Kuss Filtration, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cummins Fleetguard, is located in Findlay, Ohio. Kuss, although an excellent business, was determined to be outside the core strategic interests of Cummins and Fleetguard.
    Kuss Filtration has been a leader in the development of filtration solutions for automotive, medical and consumer goods industries since 1949. Kuss is headquartered in Findlay, Ohio with a small operation in Quimper, France. It employs approximately 350 people with sales of $32 million.
