IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY DRIVER TO MAKE SPECIAL APPEARANCE

IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY DRIVER TO MAKE SPECIAL APPEARANCE
AT PALMDALE'S PINECREST SCHOOL - FRIDAY, APRIL 19

Irwindale, Calif. - - Fred Brown and his #79 NASCAR Vista Paint Super Stock racer are going back to school on Friday, April 19. The 32 year-old Palmdale resident and rookie racer in the 2002 Super Stock series at Irwindale Speedway will make a personal appearance at Palmdale's Pinecrest School where his two children go to school. The private school accommodates youngsters from age 2 through 6 grade.

During his visit all of the kids at the school will be allowed to "decorate" Brown's car with their handprints (in watercolor). "We want the children to feel involved in our team's effort … This seems like a great way for each student to put their personal mark on our race car. My crew just can't wait to see what it's going to look like!" (The car is normally red, black, and white.)

On Saturday, Fred will load up his specially-painted 1979 Camaro race car and make the trek to Irwindale Speedway to compete in the Vista Paint race that evening. He hopes that all 50 of the complimentary tickets that he was scheduled to give out on Friday will be used by the students at Pinecrest to cheer him on from the grandstands.
