FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TEAM WALKER MOTORSPORTS
CLOSES ITS DOORS
April 17, 2002 (Valencia, Calif.) - Team Walker Motorsports announced today
that it has ceased operations and will sell all of its equipment.
The team's performance so far this season has been top-notch, and plans had
been set to expand into NASCAR's national divisions beginning later this
season. However, those plans required the support of a major sponsor. With
no sponsor contract expected in the short term, the team was forced to close
its doors this week.
The employees were released Tuesday. Team manager Johnny Bojorquez and
driver Sean Woodside will work together to close down the operation and sell
the racecars and other equipment.
Woodside is also working to put a driving program together for himself for
the remainder of the season in either the NASCAR Winston West or Featherlite
Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring division.
Team owner Donna Walker said, "It is very hard to turn away from something
we've worked so hard to build, but we were simply unable to continue without
the sponsor support."
Inquiries about the equipment and racecars should be directed to Johnny
Bojorquez at 818/422-9577.
More information is available at the team's Web site at
