General Motors agreement with Indmar Products

General Motors Enters Agreement With Indmar Products To Sponsor MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour And Malibu Just Ride/Open Series

PONTIAC, Mich.- General Motors, a leader in the marine gasoline engine industry, has entered into a new three-year cross-promotional agreement with Indmar Products, a manufacturer of gasoline inboard marine engines.

As part of the agreement beginning this year, Chevy Trucks and GM Vortec Engines have been named the presenting sponsor of the six-stop MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour, including the MasterCraft Water-ski Championship, and the Malibu Just Ride Series and Malibu Open. The MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour is the ultimate competition for any professional wakeboard rider and the MasterCraft Water-ski Championship features top athletes in men's ski jumping, men's and women's slalom and men's wakeboarding. The Malibu Just Ride Series and Malibu Open provide a showcase for the world's best wakeboard and water-ski athletes to demonstrate various techniques without the traditional competition format.

The agreement provides Chevy Trucks and GM Vortec Engines with various promotional elements including: naming rights for Chevy Trucks as the official vehicle; GM Vortec as the official vehicle engine; GM Vortec/Indmar as the official marine engine of on-water towboats for the MasterCraft Pro Tour and Malibu Just Ride/Open Series; onsite signage opportunities and vehicle displays at each event; inclusion in print ads and related websites; television mentions on ESPN2, Fox SportsNet, and Outdoor Life Network (OLN); and inclusion in radio promotions and all public relations materials.

In addition, Indmar Products will also exclusively utilize GM's Vortec 5700 V8, the high output Vortec HO 6000 V8 and high performance Vortec HP 8100 V8 marinized engines to power the Malibu and MasterCraft wakeboard and waterski tow boats throughout the events.

"This new promotional agreement strengthens our ongoing relationship with Indmar Products and we are looking forward to the excitement generated by the popularity of this watersport," said Al Alvarez, Vortec Engines brand manager at GM Powertrain.The MasterCraft Pro Tour consists of six stops across the nation including: April 6-7 in Orlando, Fla.; May 3-5 in Charleston, S.C.; June 15-16 in Detroit; June 29-30 in Indianapolis; July 13-14 in Kelowna, B.C., Canada; and the final event this year will be held July 27-28 in Lake Elsinore, Calif. The Malibu Just Ride Series will make two stops this summer. The first will be June 1-2 in High Point, N.C., and then on June 22-23 in Minneapolis. Malibu events will conclude with the Malibu Open July 19-21 in Sacramento, Calif.

GM Powertrain manufactures engines, transmissions, castings, and components for GM cars and trucks worldwide, and also has a strong outside sales activity to more than 25 customers including automotive, industrial and marine companies.
