CHICAGO--April 17, 2002--Motorola
For more than a decade, Motorola has been the official two-way radio supplier to Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) Championship Series, and, in 1999, became the Official Wireless Equipment supplier of CART.
Motorola provides CART with two-way radios, wireless phones and pagers used by drivers, teams, race officials, safety workers, medical personnel and the CART operations staff.
Motorola continues to combine forces in 2002 with Michael Andretti No. 39 Honda/Reynard/Bridgestone, Team Green and Honda for the CART FedEx Championship Series.
Motorola develops and deploys sophisticated engine management systems and advanced microprocessors specifically for Champ Car engine electronics. Motorola DigitalDNA(tm) technology provides smart embedded electronics, such as the Engine Control Unit (ECU) developed for Honda. The ECU maximizes the racecar's driving ability by improving throttle response, ignition timing, fuel delivery and automatic pit lane speed limit control.
