FEDERLIN AND AUSTIN EARN WINS BEFORE RAIN SUSPENDS
RACING

    Boise, Idaho – Top Alcohol Dragster driver Steve
Federlin and Top Alcohol Funny Car racer Bucky Austin
each earned wins at the 32nd Annual Napa Auto Parts
Ignitor Nitro Opener presented by Lithia Ford of
Boise, before rain ended competition for the day.  
    Federlin, of Oregon City, Ore., defeated Mark
Hentges of Federal Way, Wash., in the final with a
made a 5.677 second, 248.34 mph pass.  The dragster
pilot had Hentges beat from the start, as Federlin cut
a near perfect reaction of .405 seconds.  
    Fife, Wash., resident Austin, earned his second
win in a row at Firebird Raceway with a 5.989 second,
239.36 mph run.
    Eliminations are scheduled to continue tomorrow at
