Kenny Wallace to Fill in for Kevin Harvick at Martinsville
MARTINSVILLE, VA. (April 14, 2002) -- Kenny Wallace will drive the No. 29 GM
Goodwrench Service Chevrolet Sunday at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway in place
of Kevin Harvick, who has been "parked" by NASCAR for his actions during
Saturday's Craftsman Truck Series race.
"We're very grateful to Kenny for pitching in and helping RCR out at the
last minute," said Richard Childress, president and CEO of Richard Childress
Racing Enterprises, Inc. "We'd also like to thank Dale Earnhardt, Inc., for
allowing Kenny to step in. The GM Goodwrench Service team is a strong bunch
of guys and they will pull through this difficult time and be even stronger
when it's over with."
Wallace's last Winston Cup race was March 10 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in a
substitute role for the injured Steve Park and the No. 1 DEI team. Wallace
also competes full-time in the NASCAR Busch Series.
