Cadillac Becomes Title Sponsor Of DC Grand Prix

Event to Be Known As The Cadillac Grand Prix of Washington, D.C.
Washington, D.C. - Cadillac announced today that it has agreed to sign on as the title sponsor of the July 2002 auto-racing event. As part of the sponsorship agreement, the race will be known as "The Cadillac Grand Prix of Washington, D.C.," and Cadillac's name will be represented in a new logo for the event.
"We are especially pleased to be a part of bringing the most competitive in international endurance racing to the nation's capital," said Mark R. LaNeve, Cadillac general manager. "Exciting things are happening at Cadillac these days and our participation in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) with our two Cadillac Northstar LMP cars is a means to connect with a new generation of luxury customers."

Cadillac plans to bring an exciting exhibit to the paddock area titled, "The Cadillac Experience," where those attending the race will have a chance to view Cadillac vehicles from the past, present and future. As part of the partnership with the race, Cadillac will have its name prominently displayed throughout the grounds of RFK Stadium during the three-day event. Cadillac will also have its name included in the new logo for The Cadillac Grand Prix of Washington, D.C.
"The local Cadillac dealers are very enthusiastic about this partnership, and we hope this enthusiasm spills over and reaches potential new Cadillac customers in the metro Washington, D.C. area," said Steve Rosenblum, Cadillac brand manager for motorsports. The Cadillac Grand Prix of Washington, D.C., which is coming to the grounds of RFK Stadium July 19-21, will feature races of four sanctioning bodies: American Le Mans (ALMS), Trans-Am, World Challenge and Star Mazda. It will be the first major auto-racing event in the D.C. metropolitan area in more than 80 years. The ALMS race will be televised live on NBC and CBS will air the Trans-Am race. The three-day weekend festival will feature a concert, a world-record breaking jump by Robbie Knievel, a Lifestyle Expo and a celebrity match race.
