CarParts Technologies Appoints Software Industry Veterans to Head Marketing and R&D Divisions
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif.--April 10, 2002--CarParts Technologies Inc., a leading provider of supply-chain management software solutions to the automotive aftermarket, today announced the appointments of Paul Van Den Berg as Vice President of Marketing and Product Management and Jerry Johnson as Vice President of Research and Development.
In his new role, Van Den Berg will be responsible for leading the company's e-commerce software product strategy, timely product delivery, and marketing strategy, reporting to David McCann, CEO of CarParts Technologies. With more than 20 years industry experience, Van Den Berg brings extensive software marketing and product management leadership to CarParts Technologies. Van Den Berg's experience launching products, driving process improvement and integrating acquired teams and products will further support the company in accelerating its growth strategy.
"As we expand our product line and grow our sales, the process of planning, packaging and promoting our e-commerce technologies and solutions is growing in complexity," said McCann.

Van Den Berg joins CarParts Technologies from Telelogic North America, where he served as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. While in this position, he successfully integrated marketing and product management for three newly acquired software business units.
Prior to Telelogic, Van Den Berg was Vice President of Product Management and Business Development for Continuus Software, a software supply chain automation vendor, which went public on Nasdaq during his tenure.
The second executive appointment at CarParts Technologies is Johnson who has been named Vice President of Research and Development. Johnson originally joined CarParts Technologies in 2001 as Vice President, Development where he was responsible for the Warehouse Solutions ERP product line. In his new role, Johnson will be responsible for technology strategy and all software product development within the company.
Prior to joining CarParts Technologies, Johnson was Vice President of Development at Autovia Inc. an automotive aftermarket e-commerce company based in Sacramento, Calif.
