J.B. Hunt Implements New Driver Compliance Services Developed by Transplace
LOWELL, Ark.--April 9, 2002--J. B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. today announced implementation of new programs and services developed by the Fleet Services Division of Transplace for management of drug and alcohol testing and compliance-related medical billing services. These programs streamline the process for medical review officers (MROs) and transportation companies to obtain, review and report test results and to provide billing efficiency. Transplace will also serve as the Third Party Administrator for J.B. Hunt.Using its web-based system, Transplace provides an integrated management service of drug and alcohol tests from start to finish, providing complete visibility to the J.B. Hunt Designated Employer Representative (DER) to all tests. The system is designed to protect the confidentiality of the data during all phases of the testing and reporting process. Results are available to the DER immediately upon review by the MRO, thereby reducing delays in using new drivers.
Typically, a single testing event would result in three separate bills. The Transplace system consolidates billing into a single electronic source, reducing processing time and increasing accuracy.
"We have been looking for an integrated solution for some time now and have found it in Transplace," said Greer Woodruff, vice president of safety for J.B. Hunt. "The system helps us manage over 25,000 tests annually, originating at more than 100 locations, with centralized management of the process and results."
Transplace has also developed a product called eMROplace that allows MROs to verify results sent electronically by the lab. Once the MRO verifies and confirms the test result, the J.B. Hunt DER is provided an email notification and the result may be viewed online.
eMROplace was developed with the assistance of Dr. Rodney Bobbitt (MRO) and is an open architecture platform enabling any MRO to participate. "eMROplace is a revolutionary system and has increased the productivity of my staff by more than 30 percent," said Dr. Bobbitt.
