Budget Eliminates Travel Agency Base Commissions for Negotiated Corporate And Government Rate Rentals
LISLE, Ill., April 8 Budget Group, Inc. announced that due to recent changes in the car rental industry, effective immediately, it will no longer pay base commissions to U.S. and Canadian travel agents who book negotiated corporate or government rentals. Base commissions have also been eliminated for any worldwide travel agent booking negotiated commercial and government rentals into the U.S. or Canada.
The change does not affect commissions for leisure car rentals, or for business rentals that do not have negotiated rates. Budget will continue to pay commissions on these rentals. There will be no changes to Budget's travel agent loyalty program Unlimited Budget(SM), the only agent loyalty program that pays on all types of rentals.
The Company revised its commission policy in order to remain competitive within the industry and further reduce costs without impacting customer service. Travel agents may refer to their DRS pages under ZD, keyword: COMM, for further information.
