USAR & Hooters Extend Agreement

Fayetteville, GA (April 8, 2002) - United Speed Alliance Racing is going to be around for a while, at least 10 years. USAR and series title sponsor Hooters have reached an agreement to continue sponsoring the USAR Hooters ProCup Series for the next 10 years. The agreement was announced by Executive Commissioner of USAR Robert H. Brooks and finalized last week. "We are extremely excited to extend our partnership with Hooters of America and USAR," said USAR President Gene Cox. "This series has been fortunate to have great support of Hooters and we feel this association will only get stronger and stronger for both companies." Hooters of America, Inc. has been actively involved in race sponsorship at various levels since 1991 and has been title sponsor of the ProCup Series since its inception in 1996. The Series currently features a 32-race schedule at 22 racetracks in nine states and Canada. Hooters of America, Inc., which is the nationwide franchise organization of Hooters Restaurants, owns and operates nearly 100 of the 300 restaurants located throughout the world. "We feel that racing has been good for Hooters and we want to be good for racing," said Brooks. "We don't know where this will lead USAR or Hooters but we want to be all that we can be for our company, USAR, the racers and the fans. They will determine where we go in the future of this partnership." The Series will have a posted purse and point fund awards total of over $3 million in 2002 and the Series has seen growth from a southeastern-based touring Series to a one that races east of the Mississippi River. The 10-year agreement also opens the door for possible expansion to other markets throughout the United States to promote the restaurant and the Series.
