     Tri County Motor Speedway Opens 2002 Season

    Hudson, NC (April 6, 2002) -- Tri County Motor Speedway returned to action last night after a nine-month hiatus to an enthusiastic crowd. 
     Tim Wilson outdistanced Dexter Canipe to win the 35 lap Limited Late Model feature. Tres Wilson followed in third while Jerry Dockery and John Reynolds completed the top five.
    Tim Buzze won the 30 lap Modified feature edging Billy Joe Wilson. Sam Bean finished third and Jeremy Williamson and Kevin Eby completed the top five.
    Jeff Hagaman won the 25 lap Super Sport feature. Marshall Sutton and Monty Cox finished second and third respectively.
    Tim Canipe won the 20 lap Mini Stock feature after starting from the pole position. Scott Whittington and Greg Butcher followed in second and third.
    The USAR Weekly Racing Series will take the week off as Tri County Motor Speedway hosts the UARA Kool Seal Late Model Series next Friday night. the Mini stock division will be the only weekly division running with the Late Model touring series.
