Nissan Picks AP Technoglass as Glazing Supplier
CANTON, Miss., April 4 -- Nissan North America, Inc. of Jackson, Mississippi, has chosen AP Technoglass of Florence, Kentucky to supply glazing assemblies for the automobile company's new assembly facility in Canton, Mississippi. AP Technoglass will be an occupant in a new Canton Customer Service Logistics Center (SLC) right next to Nissan's assembly plant, and provide Just In Time Delivery (JIT) of value added glazing assemblies for Nissan minivans, trucks and SUVs, according to Craig Miller, Director of Transplant Sales for AP Technoglass. He attributes the new Nissan business, in part, to the success AP Technoglass and their OEM customer partners are experiencing from the glass and glazing supplier's Total Solutions Program; an integrated glazing systems initiative that helps take cost out of customers operations and enhances car buyer satisfaction in vehicle greenhouses (an automobile's interior cabin). "Our customers continue to look for acceptable ways to reduce cost in their overall operations. This directly effects our role as an automotive glazing systems supplier. Customers such as Nissan, who years ago designed, engineered, manufactured and assembled parts are now delegating more and more of those functions to trusted suppliers who provide entire in-sequence modular systems for OEM assembly. We're proud to be working closely with -- and close by -- Nissan as this new automotive process evolves, " Miller said. AP Technoglass Company, an affiliate of Asahi Glass America, manufactures automotive glass and glazing assemblies in Ohio, Kentucky, Canada and Mexico for domestic and export markets.
