KleenAir Moves to New R & D Facility
FULLERTON, Calif.--April 4, 2002--KleenAir Systems Inc. (OTCBB:KAIR), announced its move to a new 10,000 sq.ft. R & D facility in Irvine, Calif. It has been sharing facilities with its licensee Extengine Transport Systems and Extengine's subsidiary, ECOlogic Engine Testing Laboratories. As ECOlogic prepares for increased contract business for automotive certification for the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and others, it looks forward to fuller utilization of its own testing laboratories and offices.
"With the increasing pace of R & D testing activity in anticipation of EPA certification and CARB Retrofit Verification programs, plus customization of its NOxMaster(R) System for a variety of end-user applications, KleenAir has leased new space that will enable it to expand its technical and marketing infrastructure to meet the challenge of the coming months and years," said Lionel Simons, president.
KleenAir will continue to use ECOlogic Engine Testing Laboratories for certification testing and other forms of more detailed and sophisticated emissions testing, including the program anticipated in the near future with the city of Houston. A TX1 London Taxi International taxicab is currently being tested by ECOlogic and an Executive Order has been received from the CARB to run road tests on this vehicle in California.
"Extengine sees the KleenAir move into their own facility as very positive, as both companies gear up to handle the increased demand for services and products," said Phillip Roberts, president of Extengine.
Roberts also said, "KleenAir and Extengine will continue to work as they have in the past, with a common objective to establish ammonia-based SCR as the new standard for cost-effective mobile source NOx reductions."
KleenAir is also in negotiation with a number of potential acquisition candidates with complementary product lines and established revenue and profit histories. These companies target the same niche markets involving retrofit technologies that reduce exhaust system emissions.
