Sirius Teams With Nashville Roundhouse To Broadcast New Concert Series
NEW YORK, April 3 Sirius Satellite Radio, the satellite radio broadcaster, today announced an alliance with the Nashville Roundhouse, LLC, to broadcast a songwriters-in-the-round concert series titled ``Live from Nashville'' on Sirius' channel 159 beginning later this spring. Sirius offers 60 commercial-free music channels, including six country channels that highlight country hits, bluegrass, alternative and classic country music, as well as 40 world-class sports, news and entertainment channels.
To kick-off the concert series, the Nashville Roundhouse has partnered with the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) to present four very special performances to be held April 3-6 from NSAI's tenth annual celebration of songs and songwriters in Nashville known as Tin Pan South.
``We're excited to kick up our heels and work with the Nashville Roundhouse to offer Sirius listeners unique access to terrific entertainment from one of the renowned music capitals in the U.S. At Sirius, we bring you closer to the music, especially this type of special entertainment programming and celebration of songwriting from Tin Pan South, that listeners can't get anywhere else,'' said Joe Capobianco, SVP, music content and programming operations for Sirius.
``Sirius helps elevate Nashville-area performances to a national stage and gives fans across the country the opportunity to hear their favorite songwriters anywhere,'' said Jeff Wood, president of Nashville Roundhouse.
Concert Series Kick-Off
Tin Pan South is named in tribute to Nashville's 'songwriting predecessor', New York's fabled Tin Pan Alley. The festival, currently ongoing until April 6, highlights Nashville as the world's center of song and draws attention to the wide variety of writers who live and work there today. Additionally, the event attracts and embraces the best songwriters from all over the world who join the Nashville community for this special week-long celebration of songs and songwriters.
``The concert broadcasts on Sirius are a great way to celebrate and support the Nashville music scene,'' said Chris Dubois, songwriter and NSAI board member.
Scheduled to appear on Sirius on the first four ``Live from Nashville'' shows are the following country, rock, folk and bluegrass music performers and songwriters who will perform live at Tin Pan South:
