Infomedia Executes Data License Agreement with Toyota USA

SYDNEY, Australia--April 3, 2002--International automotive industry I.T. developer, Infomedia Ltd (Infomedia), today announced the signing of a five year data license agreement with Toyota Motor Sales USA (Toyota) to make and offer its flagship electronic parts catalogue (EPC) system, Microcat®, to Toyota dealers in the United States and Mexico.

Microcat is a system designed for the automotive industry to make the selection and sale of vehicle replacement parts quicker, easier and more accurate. The Microcat EPC system is well regarded around the world for its superior functionality and quality. Infomedia EPC Division General Manager, Gary Martin said ``the advanced features and functionality offered by the system were important factors in securing this latest data agreement.''

The terms of the agreement allow Infomedia exclusive access to the Mexican market, which Toyota officially entered on April 1st, 2002. According to Martin ``it was important for Toyota to get the new Mexican dealers off to a good start for quick and accurate parts interpretation as they require a proven multilingual system that is affordably priced.'' For these dealers, Microcat will be delivered exclusively on secure DVD-ROM and via Microcat LIVE(TM), Infomedia's leading-edge Internet based EPC system.

Infomedia is the third EPC supplier authorized by Toyota to develop EPC products for their American dealers. Toyota's dealers in the United States will be able to subscribe to Microcat on DVD-ROM or via the Internet with Microcat LIVE.

When asked about entering into a market with two existing suppliers, Richard Graham, Infomedia CEO, said, ``No competitive environment should be underestimated, but we have worked successfully for many years in competitive EPC markets and feel we have a great understanding of them. We certainly understand automotive EPC very well, as it is our specialty.''

He continued, ``At the core of the American way is competition and choice. Each of the various EPC makers have a different approach to their product and their customer relationships. We believe that the whole Microcat system will offer a clear and distinctive choice to Toyota's 1,200 dealers, and we think many will prefer it to the present alternatives.''

Some dealers who are likely to prefer Microcat will be multi-franchise dealers who also use Microcat to do parts interpretation for other vehicle brands.

Gary Martin closed by saying, ``Toyota is a global tier-one automaker and is well recognized for its commitment to quality, efficiency and value for money. We are very proud of our long term association with Toyota in Australia, Europe and now North America.''

The system is currently being released in Mexico, and is scheduled for USA release during calendar Q3.

An EPC is a sophisticated business software application that aids parts and service personnel in a dealership to determine the correct replacement parts for a vehicle, from the hundreds of thousands of parts in stock. The Microcat parts selling system, operates both from traditional ROM-discs and via the Internet. Its speed of operation, smooth integration with order entry systems, broad choice of features and easy to use graphical interface, makes it very popular with users and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
