Volkswagen Passat Continues its Strong Canadian Sales

AJAX, ON, April 2 /CNW/ - Volkswagen Canada sales in March reached 3,086 vehicles, compared with 3,900 units in March 2001, a decrease of 20.9%. Volkswagen's luxurious Passat finished the month of March with sales totalling 411 units, including 119 Passat wagons, compared with 86 wagons in March 2001, an increase of 38.4%. The Passat lineup will be expanding with the introduction of the W8 sedan and wagon, set to arrive at dealerships in late April.

The Jetta continued to be Volkwagen's best selling car in March with 1,735 units sold.

Sales of the Volkswagen Cabrio are 171 units for the first quarter of 2002, compared with 160 units in the first quarter of 2001, an increase of 6.9%.
