American Suzuki Posts 17 Percent Sales Increase
BREA, Calif., April 2 -- Bolstered by strong XL-7 sales and the addition of the just-introduced Aerio, American Suzuki sold 5,632 vehicles in March, a 17 percent increase over March 2001 sales, edging year-to-date sales up.
In its first two weeks of U.S. sales, the Aerio sold 428 units. Available in sedan and sport crossover models, the Aerio was introduced last January in Detroit; the first units began arriving at Suzuki dealers the second week in March.
Suzuki's flagship XL-7 SUV, delivered solid results, notching 3,044 sales, a 129 percent increase over the same month a year ago.
