Infiniti Reports Best Sales Month in History

GARDENA, Calif., April 2 -- Fueled by the new G35 sedan, Infiniti, the luxury division of Nissan North America, Inc., today reported that March was its best sales month in history with sales of 8,628 units, a 7.4 percent increase versus March of last year.

Contributing to this record month was the new 2003 Infiniti G35 sport sedan, the latest addition to Infiniti's lineup, which reported sales of 2,147 units. The G35, which went on sale March 11 at Infiniti retailers nationwide, is the first of four new Infiniti vehicles to be introduced within the next 12 months. G35 comes standard with a 260-horsepower V6 engine, 5-speed automatic transmission, Vehicle Dynamic Control and an in-dash 6-disc CD changer and much more -- all at a base price of $27,100.

``We're very pleased with the initial sales of the G35,'' said Mark McNabb, vice president and general manager, Infiniti Division. ``Since it went on sale three weeks ago, showroom traffic has been tremendous, which has obviously had a positive affect on our entire lineup.''

Not only did G35 have a strong sales month, the Infiniti QX4 reported its best March ever with sales of 2,246 units, an increase of 18.2 percent versus March of last year. The G20 also reported a spike in sales with 1,130 units, accounting for a 16.8 percent increase.

Rounding out the Division, Q45 posted sales of 374 units while the I35 posted sales of 2,730 units.

Nissan North America, Inc.'s combined sales for March, including Nissan and Infiniti divisions, totaled 76,200 units, an increase of 14.2 percent versus last year.
