The Dial Corporation Joins the Nistevo Collaborative Logistics Network

Nistevo's Transportation Management Solution to Centralize and
Automate Dial's Logistics Processes for Improved Customer Service

MINNEAPOLIS--April 1, 2002--Nistevo Corp., a leading Collaborative Logistics Network(SM), today announced that The Dial Corporation has subscribed to the Nistevo network. As a member of the network, Dial will leverage Nistevo's multi-tenant software for improved cross-supply chain visibility, online contract compliance and transportation execution. Initially, Dial will deploy Nistevo's Contracts and Execution modules to automate and centralize its logistics operations for more than 30 locations, resulting in improved service to their customers and better connectivity with their carrier base.
"Dial Corporation is aggressively looking for innovative Internet technologies that help us to better service our customers and apply industry best practices," said Evon Jones, senior vice president and chief information officer for The Dial Corporation. "Compared to other technologies in the market, Nistevo offered us a more robust application, rapid deployment plan and a solution proven by companies with similar logistics and IT needs."
"Online transportation management will create more efficient operations for our company, which in turn will help us to improve our customer service," said Bill Tyree, vice president of customer service and logistics for Dial. "For the first time, we'll have cross-company, and eventually cross-supply chain, visibility to our shipments in a single Internet-based system. With Nistevo's event management capabilities, we'll be notified of exceptions to shipment schedules so it can be appropriately addressed before it becomes an issue to our customer. We feel it will be our customers that will ultimately benefit most from this new system."
"With Nistevo, we'll be able to rapidly achieve two of our immediate transportation goals -- connecting our diverse carrier base to a single system and improving our carrier contract compliance across the organization," said Mark Russell, director of transportation for Dial. "Nistevo has successfully connected over 300 carriers to the Nistevo network to date. This experience and the flexibility of their solution will allow us to quickly connect to our small and large carriers regardless of their technical infrastructure. Once connected, our distributed locations will tender shipments through Nistevo in compliance with contract commitments created at corporate. Overall, we'll have greatly improved our visibility to the carrier's activities in-transit, tender more effectively across the enterprise, and maintain solid relationships with all of our core carriers."
"Nistevo is pleased to welcome The Dial Corporation as the newest member of our network and we look forward to a long-term relationship," said Kevin Lynch, president and chief executive officer of Nistevo. "As our customer base and network volume grows, Nistevo is proving its ability to remove many of the hidden costs in the overall transportation system by delivering improved transportation efficiencies."
