Nissan and Wingcast Unveil Infiniti Telematics Plans

NEW YORK, March 28 -- Wingcast announced today that it will be the exclusive provider of telematics services and applications for four 2003 model year Infiniti vehicles being produced for sale in the United States. The Infiniti G35 sedan, G35 Coupe, M45, and Q45 will include the Infiniti Communicator Connected with Wingcast as a standard feature according to the multi-year agreement with Nissan.

``We view telematics as a new technology that will provide new services that enhance the relationship between the car and driver, and between Infiniti and the Infiniti owner base,'' said Jack Collins, vice president of product planning for Nissan North America. ``It is through this exciting technology from Wingcast that we will provide our customers with the highest levels of safety, security and convenience, as well the ability to stay connected while experiencing an unmatched driving experience.''

Infiniti buyers will be among the first to experience Wingcast telematics in vehicles arriving in showrooms across the US in Fall 2002. Wingcast will provide Infiniti owners with access to a variety of services, including safety and security features such as automatic airbag deployment notification, emergency assistance and stolen vehicle tracking; communication services for hands-free voice-activated calling, call-forwarding and voice mail; information services such as news, stocks and weather and location-based navigation services.

Wingcast services, including automated and operator assisted calls, are accessed from inside the vehicle using a four-button interface, a microphone and the car's audio system. In addition, Wingcast services may be accessed from any telephone outside the vehicle.

Infiniti customers will have the option of purchasing a companion handset for wireless calling outside the vehicle. Wingcast has developed an internal billing system that will enable customers to receive a single, easy-to-read bill for Wingcast calling and service plans.

``Wingcast is very excited to serve as the North American telematics provider for Nissan, a proven leader in delivering leading-edge technologies into their vehicles,'' said Harel Kodesh, president and CEO of Wingcast. ``Wingcast looks forward to meeting the growing demand of Nissan and Infiniti customers by providing them with a new breed and quality of telematics services that will be unsurpassed in the automotive marketplace.''
