Ford Motor Company Awards I.D. Systems Initial Contract Under Corporate Blanket Purchase Order

    HACKENSACK, N.J.--March 28, 2002--

I.D. Systems' Technology to be Implemented At Windstar Minivan Assembly Plant -- First of More Than 40 Ford Plants Covered by Blanket
    Purchase Order

I.D. Systems, Inc. today announced that Ford Motor Company has ordered I.D. Systems' wireless Industrial Vehicle Electronic Control System (IVECS) for the auto maker's Oakville Assembly Plant. This is the first contract issued under a corporate blanket purchase order, awarded to I.D. Systems in December 2001, which enables Ford to implement the IVECS security and safety initiative at more than 40 Ford manufacturing facilities throughout North America. IVECS will be deployed on the fleet of material handling vehicles at the Oakville, Ontario facility, which produces Ford's popular line of Windstar minivans. Delivery of the Oakville order is scheduled by the third quarter of 2002.
"As anticipated, the roll-out of our IVECS system to Ford plants has commenced during this first quarter of 2002," said Jeffrey Jagid, I.D. Systems Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "Ford has been a major proponent of our wireless technology because it improves workplace safety by ensuring only trained operators use certain equipment, as required by safety regulations; it enhances plant security by restricting vehicle access to authorized personnel only; and it helps reduce fleet maintenance costs by automatically uploading vehicle usage data, providing early identification of emerging repair issues, and electronically recording vehicle impacts. We look forward to working with Ford to implement our IVECS system throughout North America."
