Delco Remy Names Matt Mullarkey Sr. Vice President of Global Operations

ANDERSON, Ind., March 26 -- Delco Remy America's President Richard Stanley announced the appointment of Matt Mullarkey to the position of Sr. Vice President of Global Operations for Delco Remy America (DRA).

Commenting on the appointment Stanley stated, ``Matt's proven track record, leadership skills and strong automotive background make him a natural choice to take on a large role at DRA. As we continue to expand globally, appointments such as this represent an important element in the continued growth of Delco Remy.''

Mullarkey is an accomplished operations leader with over 16 years of leadership in a variety of challenging environments in the US, Canada and Europe. In this new assignment he will be responsible for the direction and development of DRA operations in North and Latin America, Asia, and Europe with responsibilities for manufacturing, production control and logistics; manufacturing engineering; manufacturing quality; continuous improvement; and lean initiatives.

Mullarkey has significant experience in the management of multi-site manufacturing operations, logistics, planning, engineering, procurement, and finance. He has implemented major business improvement through cross- functional business team processes of sustainable change in the areas of lean manufacturing, JIT, supply chain, sales and operations planning and pull systems, continuous improvement, synchronous flow and supply chain optimization.

Most recently, Mullarkey was the Americas manufacturing sector practice leader for Celerant, an international consulting firm that provides operational strategy and change implementation services to major corporations.

In 1989, he began his business career with Michelin Tire Group, a $13 billion global tire manufacturer. From 1997 to 1999, while based in Clermont-Ferrand, France, he managed operations and manufacturing rationalization across four European manufacturing facilities. Previous to this he was with Michelin at the Uniroyal-Goodrich Tire Corporation, Canada, from 1993 to 1997, he served as an operations manager and financial officer. Other assignments with Michelin included roles in supervision, corporate industrial engineering and manufacturing operations in South Carolina. He began his manufacturing career as an industrial engineer with Michelin's Columbia, South Carolina facility.

He earned an MBA from the University of South Carolina, a Masters of Science in Systems Management from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy, West Point. Mullarkey was a Captain in the United States Army (25th Infantry Division) and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in 1989.
