Mediagrif Acquires U.S Based Truck and Heavy Equipment Parts Electronic Marketplace
MONTREAL--March 26, 2002--Mediagrif Interactive Technologies Inc. , a leading developer and operator of business-to-business e-commerce marketplaces and provider of e-commerce solutions, announced today that it has purchased the assets of LiveListings.com Inc., a leading B2B e-marketplace serving the truck and heavy equipment parts industry. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.Based in Seattle, Washington, LiveListings.com Inc. was founded in 1998 following its acquisition of Multi-Fax Services, Inc., established in 1988. Through its electronic marketplace and subscription-based fax services, LiveListings.com assists over 2,000 registered member companies, including approximately 350 paying subscribers, in buying and selling second-hand, rebuilt and new parts for medium and heavy duty equipment such as truck and bus fleets, construction, mining, farming and material handling equipment. More than 200,000 listings for sale are currently available on the marketplace. The company has customer support and sales offices located in Santa Rosa, California and Vancouver, British Colombia.
Enterprises that use heavy-duty vehicles and equipment are constantly seeking to maximize the uptime of their assets. LiveListings.com eliminates the inefficiencies involved in finding and buying parts needed for the quick repair of their vehicles and equipment. Members tap into a powerful centralized database of vendors who stock inventory, thereby enabling them to connect directly with the sellers. In addition, buyers with old vehicles are able to locate hard-to-find and obsolete parts by linking to the widest network of used and rebuilt parts sellers. Finally, companies with excess inventory increase their reach in new markets and sell more products while reducing operational costs.
Through this acquisition, Mediagrif is expanding into a new vertical market. Mediagrif plans to grow the existing critical mass of LiveListings.com by providing a strong technology platform, its operational expertise and offering other value-added services.
"This acquisition is in line with our marketplace development strategy. The truck and heavy equipment parts industry presents all the necessary criteria for the success of an electronic marketplace. Our e-commerce technological and operational know-how, combined with LiveListings' critical mass of customers, will undoubtedly create a marketplace of choice in the industry and support the development of Mediagrif," stated Denis Gadbois, Chairman and CEO of Mediagrif.
