Crime Up But Mopar EVS IT-s System Provides Ultimate Content Protection

CENTER LINE, Mich., March 25 -- According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), auto theft is again on the rise in the United States after a ten-year decline. Recent statistics released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Uniform Crime Report show auto theft rates increased 1.2 percent from 1999 to 2000. In fact, theft of vehicle contents is currently 25.2% of all larceny thefts nationwide!

To help combat this disturbing statistic, Mopar, DaimlerChrysler's parts and accessories division, offers an incredible content protection system for Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep® vehicles.

Called EVS Interior Theft Sensor (IT-s, the system is designed to protect everything from CDs to more expensive items such as laptops and cell phones. Designed to work with (not against) the electronic systems in all Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles, it can be added to almost any vehicle that already has an electronic security system. The EVS IT-s system provides interior vehicle content protection via an infrared-based shock/impact sensor with virtually NO FALSE ALARMS, plus improved impact sensing and a wide range of sensitivity for total vehicle protection.

Like all Mopar electronic accessories, the EVS IT-s System is designed and completely tested to guarantee compatibility with Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicle electrical systems. In addition, EVS IT-s draws minimal current when the ignition is off, so the system won't drain the battery.

EVS IT-s, like all Mopar accessories, comes with a 3-year/36,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty, or Mopar's 12-month/12,000-mile basic limited warranty, whichever is more favorable to the customer. For more information on IT-s, or any other Mopar accessory, see the Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer near you, or visit www.mopar.com .
