Thirteen New Penn Drivers Recognized for One Million Accident-Free Miles

    LEBANON, Pa.--March 25, 2002--New Penn Motor Express, Inc., a subsidiary of Roadway Corporation, recently recognized 13 employees who reached a career safety milestone during 2001 of driving one million miles without a preventable accident.
    The drivers were recognized at a series of safety meetings held throughout the company and hosted by senior management. Their accomplishment is particularly noteworthy as many of the miles were driven in congested metropolitan areas of the Northeast.
    New Penn has a total of 70 active employees who have driven at least one million accident-free miles. The following employees have driven at least two million miles without a preventable accident; Paul Cosner, Scranton, PA; Barry Duncker, Camp Hill, PA and Leroy Strauss, Lancaster, PA.
    New Penn President, Stephen O'Kane stated, "We are proud to recognize the safety achievements of New Penn employees.
