Michael F. Donoughe Named Vice President Family Vehicle Product Team At Chrysler Group
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 21 -- Chrysler Group today announced the appointment of Michael F. Donoughe as Vice President - Family Vehicle Product Team and Family Vehicle Core Team Leader, effective April 1, 2002. Donoughe will report to Richard Schaum, Executive Vice President of Product Development and Quality.
In this position, Donoughe, 43, will be responsible for directing all Family Vehicle product development activities for the Chrysler Group and will lead the Family Vehicle Core Team. He succeeds Gordon Rinschler, who is retiring from the company.
``Mike's extensive engineering experience will help him guide a key product team within this organization,'' said Schaum. ``After all, Chrysler created the minivan and with the help of Gordon's stewardship, made it the class-leading product it is today. Mike's mission is to preserve our dominance in this segment, while expanding the Family Vehicle Product Team to include new and innovative products such as the all-new Chrysler Pacifica.''
Donoughe began his automotive career at Chrysler Group in 1983. He has since held various engineering positions, including Executive Engineer, Program Management - Small Car Platform and Executive Engineer, Powertrain Engineering - Small Car Platform. Most recently, he served as Director of Passenger Car Development for the Mercedes-Benz GST program in Stuttgart, Germany.
Donoughe holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan, a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Wayne State University and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Toledo.
