USAR Names Advisory Board for Hooters ProCup Series
Fayetteville, GA (March 18, 2002) - United Speed Alliance Racing has announced an advisory board, made up of car owners in the Hooters ProCup Series, will be formed for the 2002 season. The six members selected to serve on this board will meet with USAR representatives to discuss issues concerning the Hooters ProCup Series.
Three members from each division of the Series were selected through nominations from competitors and by appointment from USAR officials. The members will meet with USAR officials a total of three times during the 2002 season.
The car owners from the Northern Division that will serve are: Lonnie Rush, Don Sprouse and Mardy Lindley. The car owners from the Southern Division will be Haskell Willingham, Jim Kinder and Ricky Benton, Sr.
"We want to have input from our racers and we want to hear from the teams," said USAR President Gene Cox. "We are constantly working to find ways to improve the Series for our competitors, sponsors and fans. This open line of communication between the Series and its competitors will give each side a better opportunity to communicate and work together to improve this Series."
The USAR Hooters ProCup Series currently visits 22 tracks in nine states and Canada on the 2002 schedule and will award over $3 million in purses and point fund money this year. The Series features full-size, steel-bodied stock cars that compete on tracks from .363-mile to .750-mile.
