ArvinMeritor Revises Outlook Upward for Second Quarter
TROY, Mich., March 20 ArvinMeritor Inc. announced today that it expects the company's earnings per share for the second quarter, ending March 31, 2002, will be in the range of $0.50 to $0.53. The current First Call consensus estimate is $0.50.
``The markets are stronger than expected, which has driven our revenues and earnings higher than we predicted in our earlier outlook,'' said Larry Yost, ArvinMeritor chairman and CEO.
In the past two months, light vehicle original equipment markets in North America and Western Europe have been stronger than expected. Although truck market demand in North America and Western Europe is beginning to improve, trailer markets remain weak. Light vehicle aftermarket revenues appear to be on track with earlier forecasts.
ArvinMeritor will release its second-quarter results before the market opens on April 18, 2002. The outlook for the third quarter, as well as for the full year will be provided in that earnings release.
