PR1 IMPRESSES AT ZETEC CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON-OPENER

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR1 IMPRESSES AT ZETEC CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON-OPENER

FRESNO, CALIF. (March 19, 2002) –Following the first two rounds of the
13-race Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship, run in support of the Mobil 1
12 Hours of Sebring this past week, the PR1 Motorsports Team is looking
forward to a strong run at the championship.

Following a comprehensive winter testing program, team drivers Travis
Irving, 16, of Chino Hills, Calif. and Sean McIntosh also 16, of Coquitlam,
B.C., Can., came out of the gates quickly. In race one on Thursday, the duo
finishing 3rd and 5th respectively, in competition with some of the racing
world’s most talented young drivers.

On Friday, a foggy early morning qualifying session for race two didn’t
match up well with the previous day’s qualifying setup leaving Irving
starting 11th and McIntosh 12th. The situation became even more challenging
when, following a great start for both drivers, the allotted number of
actual racing laps was reduced by 50% due to yellow flag caution laps. Given
just a four lap dash to the finish, both drivers still managed to
substantially improve their starting positions with Irving finishing seventh
and McIntosh eighth. With a lot of confidence earned, and 11 races still to
go, the first two rounds left Irving in 4th and McIntosh 7th in the hunt for
the championship.

PR1 newcomer, Lawson Aschenbach, 18, of Gaithersburg, Md., in just his very
first start in a Formula 2000 car, also showed he is going to be a strong
addition to the team. With no previous experience in the series, Aschenbach
posted a respectable 20th in qualifying for race one, but obviously wanting
much more. Following additional adjustments to the setup on his racecar, the
young driver really stepped it up and showed his talent in qualifying for
Race two, where his time earned him an impressive 6th place starting
position. Unfortunately an on-track incident between two other drivers
resulted in Aschenbach’s car being hit from behind, leaving him with both a
damaged race car and the loss of his front running opportunity for the race.
