Dana To Supply Traction and Torque Management Technologies for Two New Jeep Models

TOLEDO, Ohio, March 18 Dana Corporation announced today it will supply DaimlerChrysler with front and rear axles for the 2003 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and front axles and rear main driveshafts for the Renegade model of the Jeep Liberty.

The new 2003 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon delivers tremendous off-road capability previously reserved for highly modified vehicles using aftermarket accessories. Dana 4x4 front and rear axles (model 216) provide extraordinary performance and durability within this exciting Jeep engineered off-road package.

New for 2002, Jeep has added design cues on its Liberty Renegade model for customers wanting the rugged look of an off-road sport utility vehicle. The performance-proven drivetrain is outfitted with Dana front axles and rear main driveshafts.

``Dana has a long association with Jeep products,'' said Bill Carroll, president of Dana's Automotive Systems Group. ``Since World War II, Dana's rugged axles and driveshafts have provided Jeep vehicles with unparalleled traction and torque carrying abilities for performance when it counts. We believe that both of these vehicles will continue this legacy of dependability, which is synonymous with the name Jeep, and will solidify the leading position the Jeep brand has in the off-road market.''

Dana currently supplies traction and torque management technologies for the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Wrangler, as well as the Liberty, which was recently honored ``Best New Support Utility Vehicle'' by the Automobile Journalist Association of Canada and awarded Popular Mechanics magazine's highest honor, ``Popular Mechanics Design and Engineering Award.''
