24-HOUR RACE FOR KIDS
DAN MURPHY’S 24-HOUR RACE FOR KIDS
Are you wild about NASCAR? WTEN Sports Director Dan Murphy is so wild about
NASCAR that he’s teamed up, once again, with the NASCAR Silicon Motor Speedway,
located on the lower level of Crossgates Mall, to raise money for the Children’s
Hospital at Albany Medical Center.
We invite you to catch NASCAR fever and race against Dan as he drives simulated
Winston Cup race cars for 24 straight hours starting on Friday, March 22nd at 5
p.m. and ending on Saturday, March 23rd at 5 p.m. Crossgates Mall will remain
open for the entire 24 hours, giving drivers plenty of chances to compete against
Dan. You can reserve your race time by calling the Speedway – 218-3278.
Race fans, NASCAR Silicon Motor Speedway members, Crossgates Mall merchants and
corporate sponsors can join in the fun and help Dan help sick and injured
children throughout the Capital Region. A portion of each race ticket purchased
will go directly to the Children’s Hospital at Albany Med. Plus, along with the
racing, there will be autograph sessions with the area’s top stock car drivers, a
raffle with great prizes and much more.
To make Dan Murphy’s 24-Hour Race for Kids a huge success, we need your help!
Come to Crossgates Mall between 5 p.m. March 22nd and 5 p.m. March 23rd ready to
race. Or, if you can’t make it to the event, you can still take part in the fun
by pledging a PENNY for each mile Dan drives. Just log on to www.wten.com and
click on 24-Hour Race for Kids. Or, to pledge by phone, call the Children’s
Hospital – 262-3835.
