Fairchild Semiconductor Receives Philippines' Distinguished Child Friendly Award; Highest Honor Given by the Employers Confederation of the Philippines
CEBU, Philippines--March 15, 2002--Fairchild Semiconductor International , the leading global supplier of high performance products for multiple end markets, has received the Child Friendly 3-Stars Award - the top honor awarded by the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) for a company's standing as both "child friendly" and "child labor free". The award was recently presented by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Fairchild Semiconductor Cebu's Community Care Program.The ECOP recognizes "child-labor free" and "child-friendly" firms such as Fairchild with a golden badge of honor - a unique signal of quality indicating to customers that the company's products or services are free from child exploitation. This badge of recognition is also an assurance that at no stage in the production of the good or services have children, youth or juveniles been exploited by the firm and their suppliers or subcontractors.
Fairchild Cebu's Community Care Program was instrumental in enabling the company to receive the Child Friendly 3-Stars Award. The program is focused on improving the quality of public education, preserving the environment and benefiting school children of the neighboring communities. Fairchild Semiconductor Cebu's Community Care Program supports the following initiatives:

In order to be considered for the Child Friendly 3-Stars Award, companies must demonstrate success and achievement in the following hallmarks of good business:

-- Commitment to undertake collaborative activities against exploitation and abuse.
