HIGHWAY PATROL PRECISION DRIVING TEAM
WILL MAKE AN APPEARANCE OPENING NIGHT
The California High Patrol's Precision Driving Team will be back at the Speedway on Saturday night, March 16, with a brand new, thrill-pack display of close-order drill at 70+ miles per hour.
Led by senior officer Mark Garrett, the team does things with regular CHP "cruisers" that most people only see in the movies. Not a "stunt" show, these men and women will demonstrate the talent and techniques that mark CHP officers as the driving elite of law enforcement.
The demonstration is staged to bring recognition to the Highway Patrol and to interest young people in seeking a career with the CHP.
But … Don't blink when they're out on the track and try real hard not to cover your eyes with both hands when they burn down the front straight in two opposing packs, seemingly courting a sixty-mile-an-hour/six-car/head-on.
