A.J. Rose Partners with Oxford Consulting Group to Successfully Implement Sterling Commerce's Gentran: Server with QAD's EDI eCommerce

INDIANAPOLIS--March 13, 2002--Oxford Consulting Group, an Indianapolis based e-business consulting firm, announced today that A.J. Rose, a leading supplier of precision-formed metal products and assemblies to automotive, truck and agricultural equipment industries, has partnered with Oxford Consulting Group to successfully implement Sterling Commerce's GENTRAN: Server for NT product with QAD's EDI ECommerce and MFG/PRO version eB.
A.J. Rose had identified EDI as a key component of the upgrade from QAD MFG/PRO 8.5 to QAD MFG/PRO eB. A.J. Rose's growing customer and supplier initiatives demanded a proven solution that had the flexibility and robustness to handle current, mission-critical EDI requirements as well as provide the capabilities to meet future e-business needs, including participating in trade exchanges. A.J. Rose looked to Oxford Consulting Group to assist them in finding a solution to meet these growing needs.
"We were very pleased with the Sterling Commerce solution Oxford presented to us," said John Doughtry, Director of IT for A.J. Rose. "We were impressed with Gentran's robustness and its rich feature set. Furthermore, we were able to rely on Oxford's library of trading partner-specific maps and other utilities to ensure a quick implementation with QAD MFG/PRO and QAD EDI ECommerce. With Oxford's knowledge of both the QAD EDI ECommerce and Gentran products, we were able to achieve a smooth migration from our legacy EDI platform," Doughtry added.
Oxford Consulting Group E-business Integration Manager, Trevor Richards, commented, "We are very pleased with the results of A.J. Rose's implementation of Sterling Commerce with QAD EDI ECommerce. With GENTRAN: Server and EDI ECommerce, A.J. Rose can now easily add new trading partners and manage ongoing support internally without a lot of lead-time or assistance from third parties. This is definitely a big step forward for A.J. Rose."
According to Doughtry, A.J. Rose will recover all of the investment costs of moving to the combined solution from QAD and Sterling Commerce within 12 months. "Not only will we quickly recover our investment, A.J. Rose is now poised to leverage EDI automation and reduce the internal as well as external cost associated with meeting customer requirements," said Doughtry. He added, "The conversion of manual purchase orders to automated EDI is already planned and GENTRAN: Server's support of XML positions us for the next phase of eCommerce."
