Mercedes sales In U.S. On Rollercoaster Ride.

Bloomberg new reports that DaimlerChrysler Mercedes-Benz 2-Month sales have risen 2% to a new sales record at its Mercedes-Benz division in the first two months of the year.

Growth in the first weeks of the year more than offset a decline in February. The biggest luxury carmaker sold 161,200 vehicles in January and February, DaimlerChrysler said in a faxed statement.

Unit sales in February fell 2 percent from a year ago to 80,900 vehicles, the company added. Sales in the U.S. last month fell 2 percent to 14,900 cars, though rose 7.5 percent in the first two months to 30,000 units, the company said.
