Engineous Recognized as Premier Automotive Supplier at 2002 PACE Awards

TROY, Mich.--March 6, 2002--Engineous Software Inc., provider of the award-winning integration, automation and design improvement software iSIGHT and related strategic services, announced today that it has been selected as a winner in the 2002 PACE (Premier Automotive Suppliers' Contributions to Excellence) Awards.
The eighth annual program, co-sponsored by Automotive News and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, pays tribute to suppliers selected from around the world for showing ingenuity through their products, information technology, management and innovations.
Engineous, the only information technology supplier among the eight 2002 PACE winners, was chosen for its iSIGHT software, an evolutionary software framework for integrating and automating the design process, and optimizing the associated products in the automotive, aerospace, electronics and other industries.
The software is being deployed at virtually every major automotive company around the world. Many of these organizations have realized significant bottom line results through dramatic improvements in design cycle time, product quality and performance, and engineering resource productivity.
Key to being chosen as a winner was Engineous' ability to demonstrate how iSIGHT technology impacts the automotive industry. For example, when integrated into an automotive product design process, iSIGHT intelligently investigates myriad design possibilities until the best solutions are calculated, providing superior insight and decision-making intelligence to users. Companies have put this technology to use to dramatically improve productivity, and to solve critical design problems such as reducing the weight of vehicles while maintaining safety and stiffness targets, improving engine torque performance and volume efficiency, and slashing dangerous engine emissions. Companies have also used iSIGHT to reduce product design cycle time by as much as 90%, saving millions of dollars in weight, labor, and manufacturing costs.
"We are truly honored to have been in the running with premier suppliers such as Delphi, Visteon, Goodyear, BASF, Johnson Controls, and Siemens. Being grouped with such outstanding companies highlights the significant impact our technology and services have had on the automotive industry. We applaud our customers for taking the leap to implement iSIGHT and invest in our new breed of technology. This support will enable Engineous to continue to respond to the urgency of OEMs and their suppliers to improve product design processes and increase productivity," said Janet C. Wylie, President and CEO of Engineous.
Dr. Siu Tong, Founder and Chairman of Engineous, accepted the PACE Award on behalf of the company. During his acceptance of the award, the following citation from the PACE judges was flashed to the audience at the Detroit Opera House: "Engineous software is changing the paradigm of product development. Rather than a labor-intensive, risk-averse, manual computer-aided engineering process, iSIGHT transforms product development into an automated, time-saving exploratory process."
