DETROIT--March 6, 2002--SAE 2002. Schenck Pegasus Booth # 2011. Building on the success in Europe of the Dynas series of AC dynamometers, Schenck Pegasus announces the launch of the global product Dynas3 in North America.
The advanced technology and superior performance characteristics of the Dynas range make this series one of the most versatile dynamometers available worldwide. Dynas is suitable for testing and calibration of a wide range of diesel and IC engines, as well as expanding the simulation capabilities in engine and vehicle development.
The Dynas dynamometers are extremely compact and can be integrated to meet specific customer requirements. Similar in size to eddy-current dynamometers, the Dynas machines are ideally suited for test cell upgrades where existing equipment needs to be replaced. They offer not only a replacement system but also provide higher performance.
The Dynas3 HT (High Torque) dynamometers have characteristics that enable both passenger car diesel and gasoline engines to be tested with a single dynamometer. Schenck offers the ideal solution with the Dynas3HT in three different models from 250 up to 460kW.
For a wide range of test cycles, dynamometers with low inertia and high acceleration rates are required. The Dynas3 LI (low Inertia) has an extremely low moment of inertia providing acceleration rates of up to 18,000 rpm. Schenck offers the Dynas3LI in three models with a nominal power from 145 up to 460kW and a speed range of 10,000 rpm.
When used in conjunction with Schenck's test stand system, the Dynas3 is particularly suited for dynamic testing applications such as Road Load Simulation (RLS). The system can be utilized in conjunction with different types of drivers and vehicles as well as manual and automatic transmissions.
While the Dynas range will be marketed globally, it will be supported on a local basis. Schenck Pegasus, located in Troy Michigan will provide sales and full engineering support and after sales service for the North American market.
