Rockwell Automation Completes Acquisition of Propack Data GmbH
MILWAUKEE--March 6, 2002--Rockwell Automation today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Propack Data GmbH, a global market leader of manufacturing information systems for the pharmaceutical and other regulated industries, based in Karlsruhe, Germany.Rockwell Automation initially announced its intent to acquire the company in January 2002. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
"The acquisition of Propack Data augments our Process Solutions business, gives us a broader market presence in the hybrid/batch market and enables us to expand our reach into the $50 billion manufacturing information market," said Don H. Davis, chairman and CEO Rockwell Automation.
Since its founding in 1984, Propack Data has grown to employ approximately 230 people in France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. As part of Rockwell Automation's Process Solutions business, the company will become the Global Manufacturing Solutions Competency Center for the worldwide pharmaceutical industry.
