Avis Offers Bargain One-Way Rates as Low as $12.99 a Day

PARSIPPANY, N.J., March 5 -- Disclaimer up front: This is no April Fools joke. From April 1 to June 30, Avis Rent A Car is offering exceptional one-way rates for Arizona and Florida customers traveling to selected destinations. The daily rate for a car rented through this limited-time offer is as low as $12.99 a day for a compact and $19.99 a day for a full-size vehicle. All cars are available with unlimited mileage and without a drop-off fee.

``These one-way rates are a great bargain for travelers who are going in the same direction as our fleet,'' said Scott Deaver, executive vice president of marketing for Avis. ``It pays to visit our avis.com Web site,'' he added, ``because this is the kind of rental special that when searching online, customers will find only at avis.com.''

One-way renters in Arizona may pick up vehicles at the Phoenix or Tucson airports and return them to any California, Las Vegas or Reno location. Rates for this special offer range between $19.99 and $39.99, depending on pick-up location.

Florida customers traveling to three Southeastern, 13 Northeastern and nine Central States (and the District of Columbia) can take advantage of special one-way rates ranging from $12.99 a day for a compact to $19.99 for a full-size vehicle.

The rate codes applicable for each one-way special are listed in the Deal section of avis.com.

The rentals are limited to a maximum of five days to the Southeast and Central regions and seven days to the Northeast, California and Nevada. All are subject to availability and advanced reservations are required. Taxes, local government surcharges, vehicle licensing fees, airport-related fees, and optional items such as LDW ($22.99/day or less), additional driver fees and fuel service, are extra. Other fees and conditions may apply and vary from location to location.

Avis' Web site (www.avis.com) receives about one million unique users monthly and accounts for a growing share of Avis' more than $2 billion in annual bookings. In December, the site was relaunched with improved navigation, more renter's information, and a faster reservations process.
