ADS Restructures and Begins Re-branding Initiative

    HOMEWOOD, Ill.--March 5, 2002--Metals logistics industry leader, ADS Logistics, LLC (formerly Alternative Distribution Systems, Inc.) announced today completion of a corporate restructuring, merging the subsidiary companies and operating entities into one new company, ADS Logistics, LLC (ADS).
    "ADS Logistics, LLC is a specialized metals logistics company, uniquely resourced to address all manner of metals transportation (truck, rail, intermodal, barge, ship), storage, trans-loading, packaging, outsourcing, and logistics information systems requirements", states Stephen Fraser, president and chief executive officer. "We want to pull all our capabilities under one primary brand name and provide one primary contact for our customers."
    ADS operating divisions include Area Transportation, Roll & Hold Warehousing & Distribution, Integrated Solutions, and Western Intermodal Services. Prior to the restructure these stand-alone entities were owned by Alternative Distribution Systems, Inc.
    "We're focused on making our structure and identity easy to work with and understand. Many customers have worked with one or more of our companies since the 1970's. The individual entities have grown since then in support of our customer's needs. Today, working through the ADS network, we can provide any combination of integrated services such as warehousing and delivery, information management systems, and total logistics solutions. For ease of doing business we created one company, one brand; ADS Logistics, LLC," continued Fraser.
    This restructuring and re-branding initiative augments the previously announced formation of a consolidated commercial organization that provides a single point of contact for the full-range of services available from ADS to the marketplace.
    Over time, signage, billing and logos will change so that the ADS Logistics, LLC name becomes more prominent.

    ADS provides national logistics services including truck transportation (48-state authority) with a fleet of company, independent contractor and brokered equipment (Area Transportation); a network of purpose designed truck/rail served facilities specializing in inventory management services and just-in-time delivery (Roll & Hold); intermodal and multimodal integration utilizing truck, rail, barge, ship and trans-load services (Western Intermodal), and integrated solutions via LoMaS(R) a logistics management system, as well as international expertise and consulting services for total supply chain solutions (Integrated Solutions).
