Centurion Unveils New Quad-Band Mercury Antenna

LINCOLN, Ne.--March 4, 2002--Centurion Wireless Technologies, Inc., the leading manufacturer of antennas and power products for wireless communications, today unveiled the Quad-Band Mercury Antenna for automotive communications systems.
The antenna enhances Centurion's current line of low profile, low cost telematics solutions, combining GPS, data communications and two cellular capabilities onto one antenna to create a practically invisible, versatile, high-performance option for automotive applications.
"By offering four frequencies on one antenna, we have created a flexible solution to fit a diverse set of automotive communications needs," said Gary Kuck, CEO of Centurion. "The new Mercury antenna demonstrates Centurion's position as one of the leading innovators in the fast growing field of telematics."
The Quad-Band Mercury Antenna combines two frequency bands for cellular and PCS phones at 824-986 MHz and 1850-1990 MHz, a GPS antenna at 1575 MHz and data communications capability. Service providers will benefit from a 3 dBi cellular gain, enhanced performance and extended service availability.
Centurion's telematics antennas preserve the aesthetic integrity of the automobile's design. Unlike other telematics antennas, Centurion's low profile, high-performance telematics antennas do not detract from the vehicle's design. The Quad-Band Mercury Antenna is covered in a compact, durable and ruggedized injection-mold housing.
"Our new antenna for telematics provides many benefits to both the manufacturer and end-user, including low cost, high-performance and stealth mounting," said Monty Rohde, VP of Engineering for Centurion. "Add the fact that Centurion recently announced QS9000 certification, and telematics systems manufacturers can be sure that the Quad-Band Mercury Antenna is the highest quality, versatile antenna solution available."
Centurion recently received Quality System Requirements QS9000 certification, validating that all of Centurion's antennas for telematics have been judged by the automotive industry to be the highest quality in design, materials, production and performance. QS9000 is a system of elite quality standards set forth by the automotive industry to qualify internal and external suppliers of components, services and materials. Centurion is one of a select few antenna manufacturers in the world to have received QS9000 certification.
The Quad-Band Mercury Antenna will be showcased along with Centurion's other products at the CTIA Wireless Show in Orlando, FL March 18 - 20.
