Lexus Handheld Brochures

LAKE FOREST, Calif.--March 4, 2002--SingleTap today announced the company has been selected by Lexus to provide a digital brochure distribution system for Palm Powered(TM) devices.
With the SingleTap solution, Lexus becomes one of the first auto manufacturers to offer car buyers the ability to carry detailed product brochures for later browsing and comparison shopping. Digital brochures can be downloaded from interactive kiosks at U.S. auto shows and soon from the Lexus.com Web site.
SingleTap provides Lexus with increased brand and product awareness with its customers by keeping up-to-date product information in the customer's hands at all times.
"SingleTap's Digital Brochure solution has some distinct advantages over traditional paper brochures," said Nancy Inouye, internet marketing manager for Lexus. "Because product information resides on the user's Palm Powered device, everything is readily available, easy to access and conveniently portable."
"SingleTap is thrilled to provide Lexus with the first Digital Brochure Distribution system of its kind," said Jay Wright, CEO of SingleTap. "The Lexus solution is a showcase example of how the SingleTap platform allows leading enterprises to simultaneously increase brand awareness and distribute the latest product information."
According to Gabriel Acosta-Lopez, senior director of Platform Development Services for PalmSource Inc., the Palm OS subsidiary of Palm Inc., "SingleTap shows the diversity of usages of what is possible with a handheld platform that has shipped more than 20 million units. This is a great example of a real business solution that leverages the large installed base of Palm Powered devices."
Using SingleTap's Digital Brochure system, handheld users select products of interest from a touch screen kiosk. The system then automatically creates a customized set of brochures that is downloaded to a Palm Powered device using infrared communications.
Additionally, users can select and download brochures directly from their home or office PC through a Web page. When downloaded from a Web site, the brochures are automatically installed on the device during the next synchronization session.
