DETROIT -Saturn Corporation will be the lead automotive sponsor for the fourth CBS Survivor television series. The series, entitled SURVIVOR:MARQUESAS will feature the all-new Saturn VUE compact sport utility vehicle.
"We believe the Saturn VUE is a natural fit for Survivor," said Jill Lajdziak, V.P., sales, service and marketing for Saturn Corporation. "The VUE is a vehicle designed specifically for people with active lifestyles - and you certainly can't get more active than competing on CBS' Survivor series."
SURVIVOR:MARQUESAS takes place on the mystical island of Nuku Hiva, a distant neighbor of Tahiti in the South Pacific. The series will strand 16 Americans in this remote region of the world - many miles from civilization - to fend for themselves while also competing for the grand prize and a new Saturn VUE.
As the lead automotive sponsor, two Saturn VUEs will be given away during the course of the series and one VUE advertising spot will air during twelve of the thirteen scheduled episodes.
The VUE is Saturn's all-new entry into the compact sport utility segment. Produced on a split manufacturing line with Saturn's S-Series vehicles in Spring Hill, Tenn., the VUE offers consumers a variety of unique features including polymer panels, an advanced VTi (continuously variable) transmission, electronic power steering and high levels of interior flexibility. The VUE launched in December 2001 with a base price of $16,835.
