JEREMY MAYFIELD
LAS VEGAS PREVIEW
NO. 19 DODGE DEALERS INTREPID R/T

Racing at Las Vegas
"We're looking forward to going to Las Vegas. The UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 is
going to be a big race for us because two of our biggest supporters are
sponsoring the race. I think we're going to be okay there. We came out and
tested so I think we've got a good shot to run well. Last year, I qualified
pretty well but got caught up in that wreck. I'm just looking forward to
getting out there in my No. 19 Dodge Dealers Intrepid R/T and bringing home
a good finish for Sammy (Johns, crew chief) and all the guys."

Testing at Las Vegas
"We tested at Vegas. We'll share a lot of what we learned with Bill
(Elliott) and Mike (Ford, crew chief). You always learn something in a test,
but I still feel like we're looking for that one little thing that we need.
Every week we keep improving though. We tested at Atlanta and Daytona too
and that's important. I think it will help us that we tested at Vegas. We
definitely came out of there knowing more than when we went in. I haven't
been with Sammy (Johns, crew chief) for that long but I feel like we are
really communicating well about what this Dodge is doing. You just can't go
into a test and necessarily do things the way they've always done before or
the way that I've always done them before. You've got to go there and react
to what the car's doing. That's the key to us improving. You've got to pay
attention to the car and I feel like we really have been."

Rockingham
"I'm obviously disappointed with how we finished at Rockingham. I felt like
we could have had a good finish. The guys really did a good job though of
getting the car back out there, and we didn't give up. We're battling
through this. We're only two races into the season. We'll get it to where it
needs to be."

*
*	In last year's UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400, Mayfield started 14th and
finished 42nd after being caught in an accident early in the race.

*	At last week's Subway 400 at North Carolina Speedway, Mayfield
started 21st and finished the day in 29th place. An accident on lap 157
forced Mayfield to bring the No. 19 Dodge Intrepid R/T in for repairs
several times under the caution flag. The Dew Crew worked efficiently to
repair the damage that was sustained to most of the car's body. Mayfield
battled on the track to maintain position for the remainder of the day. His
29th place finish moves him into the 36th spot in Winston Cup points.
Mayfield is 53 points out of 25th place.

(two at Talladega and one at Darlington, Dover, Rockingham, and Texas),
