BILL ELLIOTT
LAS VEGAS PREVIEW
	NO. 9 DODGE DEALERS INTREPID R/T

Racing at Las Vegas
"I've had pretty good luck at Las Vegas. I just like the place. I don't know
why, really. It's like Michigan, and I really like Michigan too. It's smooth
and it's fast. I usually get around there pretty well. This race is going to
be big for us because the UAW and Dodge are sponsoring the race. Any time
you have your biggest sponsors involved with a race, it makes it a pretty
big weekend."

Testing
"We didn't test at Las Vegas, but Jeremy did. That should help us though.
They learned some things that I'm sure we'll use throughout the weekend.
It's like in Miami last year. We didn't test, but the No. 19 did and we used
some of their notes. It really is a one-team kind of deal."

Rockingham
"We had a pretty good race at Rockingham. I said after the race that 11
seems to be our lucky number so far. Maybe I should use it since we're going
to Vegas. Really though, Mike (Ford, crew chief) and the guys have really
been working hard and it shows. I think we're eighth in points right now so
we're happy with what we've been able to do two races into the season."

*
*	In the 2001 UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 at Las Vegas, Elliott started

his career at the track.
*
*	After starting 28th in last weekend's Subway 400 at North Carolina
Speedway, Elliott spent his day working to improve the handling of the No. 9
Dodge Intrepid R/T. Battling through traffic, the 27-year veteran patiently
picked his way through the field. A late race charge propelled him from the
20th spot to an 11th place finish.
*
*	After consecutive 11th place finishes in the season's first two
races, Elliott has moved up from the 12th position in the 2002 Winston Cup

position in the points standings coming into Las Vegas.
