Ergonomics Conference Launched

NEW YORK, Feb. 26 -- Continental Exhibitions, Inc., producers of the National Ergonomics Conference and Exposition, will launch the First Annual Eastern Ergonomics Conference and Exposition in Atlanta this June. The conference is being held in response to demand from the ergonomics market, including professionals who were unable to attend last December's National Ergonomics Conference.

The NECE, the nation's largest ergonomics event, explores new ergonomics concepts, programs and products for improved productivity, safety, quality and corporate profitability. The Eastern Ergonomics Conference (EECE), scheduled for June 25th-27th at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, will provide the nation's leading ergonomists, engineers, executives, facilities and safety managers an opportunity to see updates of the best of the NECE, as well brand new sessions that will help keep them on the cutting edge of the rapidly changing ergonomics industry.

Content for the Eastern Ergonomics Conference and Exposition was developed with guidance from NECE attendees, who were surveyed about which sessions they would most like to see updated. ``We've combined brand new sessions with updates of our most highly regarded sessions to offer an outstanding program, well-targeted at the ergonomics professional looking to make immediate improvements,'' according to Walter Charnizon, President of Continental Exhibitions. Originally slated to debut in 2003, Continental Exhibitions accelerated the debut of the Eastern Ergonomics Conference in response to interest from current, former and prospective attendees to the NECE. ``The timing, location and the content of this event were driven by industry demand,'' said Charnizon.

The conference program of the EECE, available at http://www.ergoexpo.com, includes four tracks of programming: Program Management, Office Ergonomics, Industrial Ergonomics, and Materials Handling/Special Topics. The Keynote Address, ``Successful Ergonomics in Challenging Economic Times: AOL's Story,'' will be presented by Dawn Langer, Ergonomics Manager for America Online. In addition, full-day workshops will be held on June 25th covering ergonomics for the office, industrial and materials handling environments. This conference also introduces ``ErgoSchool Luncheons'' bringing together ergonomics professionals with industry leaders to explore topics like Ergonomics and the Aging Workforce, Careers in Ergonomics, Ergonomics in Heavy Industry and many more.
