Detroit Diesel Recognizes Top Performing Suppliers for Year 2001
DETROIT, Feb. 26 -- Detroit Diesel Corporation (DDC) announced today its top performing suppliers for the year 2001 as measured by its supply chain management program, Continuous Customer Value Improvement (CCVI). DDC evaluates major suppliers quarterly in the areas of quality, delivery, cost and technical support, with the goal of waste elimination through enhanced communication and coordination throughout the supply chain.
Ten companies or organizations hold the distinction of being named Detroit Diesel Corporation 2001 CCVI ``Supplier of the Year.''
Associated Spring - Saline, Michigan Brighton NC Machine - Brighton, Michigan Burgess-Norton Mfg. Co. - Claremore, Oklahoma Dana Perfect Circle - Richmond, Indiana The Ferry Cap & Set Screw Company - Cleveland, Ohio Krupp Gerlach - Danville, Illinois and L'Horme, France Mahle - Morristown, Tennessee Off Site Manufacturing Technologies, Inc. - Chesterfield Twp., Michigan Welles Manufacturing - Northvale, New Jersey Winsert, Inc. - Marinette, Wisconsin Award presentations are scheduled at each supplier's manufacturing facility in recognition of their outstanding performance. Key executives from Detroit Diesel will be in attendance.
2001 marks the fourth year of the program, which provides supply base coverage for approximately 81% of Detroit Diesel's product material purchases. In the spirit of continuous improvement, CCVI is being modified in 2002 to refine the scoring metrics with expanded emphasis on cost reduction, idea submission and warranty ownership. CCVI is a major initiative of the company.
