USAR Hooters ProCup Series Race 

 

  a.. Forty-four driver attempted to qualify for the season-opening race. The four who failed to qualify were: Free Pennington, Michael Strother, Tim Martin, and Richard Parks.
  b.. Bobby Gill has won $1,001,200 in 59 starts in the USAR Hooters ProCup Series for an average of $16,970 won per start. Gill has also won 19 races for a 32% winning average.
  c.. There were 11 Miller Lite Rookie of the Year candidates in the starting field Sunday afternoon. Jeff Oakley driving a Don Sprouse Motorsports prepared car was the highest finishing rookie with a 12th-place finish in his first career USAR Hooters ProCup Series start.
  d.. Michael Ritch returned to the Series full-time for the first time since 1998. The North Carolina driver shares a record with Bobby Gill for the most Series wins in a season with seven. Ritch finished third Sunday at USA International.
  e.. A pair of drivers celebrated birthdays on Sunday with Ritch turning 29 and rookie driver Andrew Medlin enjoying his 21st.
  f.. Four drivers competed Sunday that are registered to compete in the USAR Hooters ProCup Series Northern Division.  John Gaunt, Kyle Shoemaker, Danny Sammons and Oakley made a start Sunday.
  g.. Series veteran Mart Nesbitt was enjoying a solid top-10 run before he was collected in an accident with Oakley on lap 133. The two-time Asheville Speedway track champion was running in the front pack most of the race before damage from the accident on lap 146.
  h.. Several drivers were forced into backup cars due to mechanical problems in practice. Hal Goodson, making his first start for RBR Enterprises, had to go to a backup car after losing a motor early in the morning practice session. Goodson finished 11th. Joe Harrison, Jr. and Jabe Jones each used backup cars of Ronnie Davidson and Toby Robertson, respectively, to make the start of the race.
